The Berwick Challenge is a fun, family day where different clubs can come together in a relaxed environment. It allows clubs to build this as part of their cross country program, so the organisers have a week off while the kids can explore a new course.
It is designed so that everyone can race or run against athletes from various clubs and accumulate points for their club. There are no individual medals or ribbons; it’s about representing your club as part of a team. Please make sure you wear your club uniform for your points to count.
At the conclusion of the day, we will total the points and weight this by the size of each athletics club to determine the winner of the Berwick Challenge Perpetual trophy. Seaford Little Athletics are the current trophy holders.
The course is 90% grass with some nice hills. It’s fantastic for spectating as parents can view almost the entire course from the start/finish line. There is no entry fee, and free food will be provided by Sikh Volunteers Australia.
Athletes are to wear CLA approved uniform tops (including Coles patch and Subway barcoded race tags) with CLA approved shorts or plain royal blue (same colour as CLA shorts), black or beige long legged leggings/skins.
Parents are encouraged to run (in any of the distances), just ensure you sign the waiver with the XC Team Manager prior to (only need to sign it once for the season).
