Team Composition
Teams shall consist of three athletes of the same gender from the same Centre/Region. Athletes can be promoted a maximum of two age groups to form a team. U7 and U8 athletes are not permitted to participate in an U9 team or above. A Centre/Region team may have a maximum of 2 athletes in a team age group promoted.
Region Teams Rule Change
If you are unable to make a Centre team, work with other Centres within your Region to create a Region team and get it approved by Little Athletics Victoria.
A Centre must make every attempt to form Relay teams using athletes from their own Centre, including age group promotion. If there are still athletes wishing to compete but cannot form a Centre team, then a Region team may be formed with other Centres in the same situation.
The Race
The event will be run exactly the same as our State Road Relay Championships; Athletes will all meet at the start/finish line and remain there for the whole race. The first athlete will complete the course, tag their next team member, the total team time will be recorded when their last athlete crosses the line.
Uniform
Athletes compete in their Region/State Championships Uniform. Athletes are to wear CLA approved uniform tops (including Coles patch and Subway barcoded race tags) with CLA approved shorts or plain royal blue (same colour as CLA shorts), black or beige long legged leggings/skins.
Presentations
Athletes from the top three teams in each age group will be presented with a sash.
